- Power button ON/OFF — Switches the machine on and off. After switching on, all indicators light for a few seconds, then only the indicators of the selected programme stay lit and Start/Pause blinks.
- Programme knob Programmes — Programme selection. The knob does not turn while a programme is running. The manual does not state the direction of rotation.
- Temperature knob °C — Temperature control: can be lowered to a cold wash (snowflake). The machine does not allow a temperature above the programme maximum.
- Spin knob Spin — Spin speed: cotton up to 1000, synthetics up to 800, wool up to 600, silk no spin. The spin can be reduced or cancelled. A value above the programme maximum cannot be selected.
- Lamp — Six LEDs: the phases of the cycle (wash, rinse, spin, drain, end of cycle); with a delay they show the time remaining before the start.
- Lamp — Door lock indicator: lit means the door is locked. Open it only when it is off.
- Button Delay timer — Delays the start by up to 12 hours. Press several times until the desired indicator lights; the fifth press cancels it. After Start/Pause the value can only be reduced. Compatible with any programme.
- Button Easy iron — Fewer creases: at the end the drum turns slowly, the indicators blink orange, in the END phase. The cycle can be finished with the Start/Pause button or the easy-iron button. Not compatible with programmes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, B, C, D.
- Button Extra rinse — Improves rinsing, useful for sensitive skin. Not compatible with programmes 5, 6, B, C, D.

- Start button Start/Pause — Starts the programme (the indicator lights green) or pauses it (blinks orange). Press again to resume. A pause is also needed to open the door or cancel a cycle.
The machine does not switch on / the cycle does not start
- The plug is not inserted or there is no power.
- The door is not closed properly.
- The ON/OFF button or the Start/Pause button has not been pressed.
- The water tap is closed.
- A delay timer is set.
Manual, p. 11
The machine does not fill with water, the first-phase indicator blinks often
- The hose is not connected to the tap or is kinked.
- The tap is closed, there is no water in the house, or the pressure is low.
- The Start/Pause button has not been pressed.
Manual, p. 11
The machine keeps filling and draining water
- The drain hose is not at a height of 65-100 cm from the floor.
- The end of the hose is submerged in water.
- A wall drain without an air vent; on upper floors a siphon effect can occur, an anti-siphon valve is fitted.
Manual, p. 11
It does not drain or spin
- The programme does not include draining, so the drain must be started manually.
- Easy iron is on: finish with the Start/Pause button.
- The drain hose is kinked or blocked.
Manual, p. 11
Strong vibration during spin
- The drum was not unlocked correctly during installation.
- The machine is not level.
- It is wedged between a wall and furniture.
Manual, p. 11
Water is leaking
- The inlet hose is not screwed on tightly.
- The detergent drawer is blocked.
- The drain hose is not fixed properly.
Manual, p. 11
The Start/Pause indicator is orange and the function indicators blink often
- Switch the machine off, unplug it, wait a minute and switch on again. If that does not help, contact service.
Manual, p. 11
Too much foam
- The detergent is not for machine washing (it must say "for washing machines").
- Too much detergent.
Manual, p. 11

Lift slightly, pull out and rinse with warm water; do this regularly.
Disconnect from the mains. Remove the front panel with a screwdriver, unscrew the cap anticlockwise (a small leak is normal), clean the housing, screw it back and refit the panel.
After washing, leave the door slightly open to avoid odours.
In a power cut: unplug, make sure the water is below the door (if necessary drain it through the tube into a bucket), remove the panel, pull the lock tab down and open the door.
Close the tap after washing; check the hose at least once a year.
Where the data comes from
- Hotpoint-Ariston ARSL 105: Operating manual (RU/CIS, 12 pp.), scan on McGrp, p. 1-12 (использованы 3-11) (manual archive)
Assumptions
- The order of positions on the programme knob is assumed ascending (1-12, then A-D). The table on p. 6 lists special programmes 7-12 first, then 1-6, then A-D, and the printed order on the knob is not shown. Angles are nominal.
- Positions 2 and 4 appear in the table as two lines at different temperatures. programs[] holds the higher-temperature variant; the lower one and its time are in the note.
- The values on the temperature knob (cold, 30, 40, 60, 90) and spin knob (0, 600, 800, 1000) are derived from the programme table and the text on maximum speeds; the manual gives no intermediate marks.
- The order of the functions (delay, easy iron, extra rinse, super wash) follows the description on p. 7; the manual shows the order of the buttons on the panel without labels.
- The cycle.steps phases are split in proportion to the total duration from the table (the sum equals the table). Heating is not added separately. The machine is electronic and the manual does not give the times of individual phases.
- Insert 4 for bleach (placed in compartment 1) is not shown as a separate tray compartment; bleaching is allowed only with programmes 2, 3, 7 (p. 8).
- The night cycle and baby clothes are recorded as ending with a stop with water in the drum, based on the text under the table. The end of the cycle for programme 11 (silk) is not described directly in the manual.
- The panel colours (light plastic) are typical for the series; no photo of this particular machine was used. LED colours other than those stated (green Start, orange pause) are not named.
- The manual does not give the year of manufacture; the range is estimated from the series.
Not in the manual
- No labels for the positions on the temperature and spin knobs and no direction of rotation for the programme knob.
- No phase durations, water volume or heater power; technical data: load 1-5 kg, drum 40 l, spin up to 1000 rpm, pressure 0.05-1 MPa (p. 3).
- The delay duration per step is not given (it says "up to 12 hours").
- The table on p. 6 does not state the compartment for prewash: for programme 1 compartment 1 is assumed from the general tray description on p. 8.
Time is an estimate from the timer steps and heater power: heating 8 l of water from 15 °C to the selected temperature with a 2000 W (not stated in the manual, typical value used) heater. Real time depends on tap water temperature, load and mains voltage.
