- Power button I/O — On/Off. Press to start the machine: the "Program running" lamp lights up. To add laundry, release the button; pressing it again resumes the program. When the wash has finished, release the button.
- Button spin — Reduces the spin speed: from 1000 to 600 rpm for linen and cotton, from 750 to 400 rpm for synthetics, fine fabrics and wool.
- Button 1/2 — Reduced load (cotton and linen up to 2.25 kg): uses much less water for rinsing. Works with A, B, C, D.
- Button drain off — Drain cancel: after rinsing the laundry stays in the water. With programs G, H, K. To drain and spin, press the button again; to only drain, choose M.
- Button door — Opening the loading door. The door is locked for the duration of the program.
- Temperature knob °C — Turn the knob and set the required temperature; it turns both ways. At the snowflake symbol there is no heating.
- Programme knob program — Turn the knob clockwise, setting it to the required program; the program mark appears in the window.
- Lamp — "Program running" signal lamp: comes on at the start of operation and goes off at the end.
The machine does not switch on
- The loading door is not closed properly.
- The plug is not inserted properly in the socket.
- The main fuse has blown.
- Make sure the right program is selected.
- The On/Off button has not been pressed.
Manual, p. 50
The machine does not fill with water
- The water tap is not open or no water comes from the tap.
- The fill hose is squeezed or kinked.
- The fill hose filter is clogged.
- The loading door is not closed properly.
Manual, p. 50
The machine fills and immediately drains the water
- The end of the drain hose is too low (see the "Installation" section).
Manual, p. 50
The machine does not drain and/or does not spin
- The drain hose is squeezed or kinked.
- The drain cancel function is selected.
- Make sure the drain filter is clean.
Manual, p. 50
Water on the floor
- Too much powder or an unsuitable one (heavy foaming).
- A leak at the fill hose connections (not always visible, check whether the hose is damp).
- The drain hose is damaged.
Manual, p. 50
The machine vibrates or is noisy
- The internal packaging parts have not been removed.
- The machine touches walls or furniture.
- The feet are loose or the lock nuts are not tightened.
- The laundry is unevenly placed in the drum or there is too little of it.
Manual, p. 50
The spin starts late or does not take place
- The electronic imbalance control system has been triggered: the laundry is uneven. The machine changes the direction of rotation several times. If the laundry has not settled after 10 minutes there will be no spin: redistribute the laundry by hand and select the spin program again.
Manual, p. 50
The machine makes an unusual noise
- A commutator motor sounds different from ordinary motors; it provides a smooth start of the spin and distribution of the laundry.
Manual, p. 51
No water is visible in the machine
- The machine works economically, with reduced water use.
Manual, p. 51
The loading door does not open
- The program is still running.
- The lock has not released: the door can be opened when the door lock lamp goes out.
- There is water in the tub.
Manual, p. 51
Detergent residue after the wash cycle
- Insoluble components of modern detergents, this is not a sign of poor rinsing. Brush the laundry and shake it out; if necessary wash again.
Manual, p. 51
Foam residue after the last rinse
- Modern detergents can produce foam even after rinsing, this does not affect the wash quality.
Manual, p. 51
Unsatisfactory wash results
- Not enough detergent or the wrong choice of detergent.
- Stubborn stains were not treated before washing.
- The wrong temperature was selected.
- Too much laundry was loaded.

Wash with a hand dishwashing product, then rinse with clean water and wipe dry. Do not use products containing alcohol.
Wash under running water from time to time. It is removed by pressing the catch at the top left; the upper part, where the additives are poured, can be taken out to make cleaning easier.
Clean with an old toothbrush, then put the dispenser back and run a wash without laundry.
Clean the mesh periodically: open the cover, place a tray, unscrew the mesh, rinse it, put it back and close the cover.
If the machine fills with water slowly: close the tap, disconnect the hose, take out the filter with pliers, clean it with a toothbrush.
If you often wash at low temperature or with a small amount of powder, once a month run a program without laundry at 90-95 °C with the normal dose of powder. If the water hardness is above 7 °dH, remove limescale deposits at least 4 times a year (1.5 dl of citric acid instead of powder, a program without laundry at high temperature).
Close the tap, disconnect the fill hose, let the machine run for a few seconds, lower the end of the drain hose into a bucket, run the "Drain" program.
Before the first wash run a program at 60 °C without laundry, with the prewash switched off; put 100 g of powder in the main wash compartment.
Where the data comes from
- Electrolux EW 814 F / EW 1010 F: operating manual (RU), p. pdf 5-16 (нумерация брошюры 41-52) (manual archive)
- Model page in the manual archive rembitteh.ru (manual archive)
Assumptions
- The selector positions (A, B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, 11 positions evenly around the circle) and the temperature knob divisions (0, 30, 40, 60, 95) are estimates: the manual shows only a small-scale photo of the panel and the program card separately. The order of letters is taken as alphabetical.
- The duration is given in the manual only for B at 60 °C with 4.5 kg (130 min); the other steps and their order in cycle.steps are estimates.
- Drain cancel button: the manual names programs G, H, J, K (p. 42), while in the table the symbol appears only for G, H, K (pp. 44-45); the table version is adopted, J is not included (J has no rinses in the table).
- The panel colours are nominal: the photo from the manual was not used for the colours.
- The year range is an estimate: the manual does not give the year of manufacture.
- The main wash water volume (14 l) is an estimate; the table gives a consumption of 59 l for the whole of program B at 60 °C.
Not in the manual
- The heater power is not given: the technical data has only the total power consumption of 2200 W (p. 52).
- Durations and water consumption are not given for programs other than B at 60 °C.
- The look of the temperature knob and its divisions are not shown; the selector scale and the off position are not shown.
- The Russian-language program card is absent from the PDF (the manual only mentions it), so the panel symbols were not checked against it.
- It does not say whether the door opens sooner than 1-2 minutes when stopped with water.
Time is an estimate from the timer steps and heater power: heating 14 l of water from 15 °C to the selected temperature with a 2000 W (not stated in the manual, typical value used) heater. Real time depends on tap water temperature, load and mains voltage.
